policy analyst focused on pro-consumer AI legislation.

I advocate for changes to US law to fight algorithmic discrimination and pseudoscience issues in AI.

I’m the policy lead for AI issues at Consumer Reports. I’ve worked on and advocated for legislation like the Algorithmic Accountability Act and state AI bills in California, Washington, Massachusetts, D.C., and more. I also write papers like this one on improving AI accountability through policy changes.

Previously, I’ve worked at ID2020, the Center for Democracy & Technology, and the CITRIS Policy Lab at UC Berkeley. I was also formerly an engineer in Silicon Valley. I have a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and a Masters in Public Policy from UC Berkeley.

In my free time I like to bake (cake) and climb (rocks)!
